12ft Wide Polytunnel

So far so good! Ordering process straightforward, with excellent advice from the staff, Tunnel arrived in good order, but will not be erected until February

Good solid build with good options depending on where your site is, growing requirements etc. only minor problem was some of the door frame timbers were bowed but I was able to resolve this in the construction.

Straightforward to construct, though we have a competent DIYer in the family.

Excellent, robust polytunnel. Easy to assembly over a couple of steady days. Very pleased with it.

Quality of construction and design is amazing, as a retired engineer I found the instructions simple to follow and the tunnel easy to assemble. For a person with less practical skills this could be an issue but the QR videos make it easy. The quality of service and follow up is second to none, I wish I had bought my other 2 tunnels from First Tunnel. We have no hesitation in recommending this company and their products.

The polytunnel frame was easy enough to put up and is great quality. Unfortunately it does look like the polytunnel has been updated but the instructions haven't. We had 1 piece of wood split on the door, but not the end of the world. It does take a while to put together and you have to be pretty competent and have the right tools for the job. Overall, Its looking great and should last a while, when Tweedledum and Tweedledee finally get it together. Day 4 of building.

Very good polytunnel , I would recommend using the base rails( we didnt) it would make tensioning the polystyrene much easier! My only quibble would be the wooden doors which look great when you first put them together then warp beyond belief( they need to be better kiln dried from the suppliers I think.

New cover for our old polytunnel, looks better than it did when we first put it up 7 years ago!

Once we had put the Polytunnel together (it took about 36 hours altogether) it is very sturdy - already been subjected to 90mph winds, so would reccomed this product. We are experienced in DIY, watched all the videos and followed the instructions but would definitely recommend a fitting service as we did find some aspects were very frustrating.

Very pleased with my new polly tunnel, the service has been second to none. If I had a problem there was always someone there to sort it out for me, from start to finish I was always treated like a valued customer. Would give product and service a big 10 out of 10. Many thanks, alan. Shropshire.

A great tunnel. Taken a couple of weekends to put up, even when being helped by an experienced polytunnel builder. I'm sure it'll be worth it though come the Summer!

Really fabulous with great support from the team. I did a self build but I’m a first timer if everything works out right it would of been a doddle I did have help some what but from men who didn’t watch the how to vids and knew it all without the need they said but I wish they had watched them it would of made the job much easier. But that said the tunnel is up I finished it by myself That being said if I ever buy another I know I will have them build it and also where as it took me 3 weeks they would of done it in a few hours and the would of picked the right spot I’m reall thrilled with it I’m thinking of getting a bigger one which I will get them to build xx love it

Well it certainly looks very sturdy and professional, with lots of space. Nervous about the first real storm we have, but very impressed with the overall product!

Excellent piece of kit. Great and easy to understand instructions. The QR code shortcut to helpful videos was a great feature. The reason for not giving the full 5 stars was due to a missing piece. Even though when I spoke to the team they were very polite and helpful, it was a little frustrating to wait 3 days to receive it and for the price I paid, I would have expected next day delivery to rectify the problem.

Product looks very good. Delivery was also very good. Instructions are not so good making erection rather difficult for people without experience.

Good quality product well designed easy to put together by 60 + husband and wife team. Although took about 5 days Doing bits and pieces when we could. Instructions clearly set out and backed up very helpful videos. Well done.

The poly tunnel is fantastic it retains the heat and has enabled us to be on the allotment in poor weather and plant out early crops

Nice product...can be a bit tricky in places to work out how to put it up but with the instructions and video tutorials we got there in the end. would definitely buy another in the future.

Have not constructed yet (weather and I cannot get our schedules sorted out) but was delivered extremely fast and instructions look cushty. Even came with a free tea bag for reading the instructions with - although, for future reference - I prefer coffee or a nice beer

This is my second polytunnel from First Tunnels. The first (14x21’) was brilliant and so productive year-round that I bought my second. This 12x20’ went up easily and almost all parts were perfect and easy to assembe. Not sure but I think the quality of the timber, especially the battens, seems poorer than 2 years ago but plenty spare so no issue. Now I have a serious problem - my next tunnel is going to be VERY expensive as I’ll have to buy a new house with a bigger garden to accommodate it. Unless I can convince my wife to sacrifice the last bit of remaining lawn!

A really well designed kit. As a first polytunnel build it was pretty daunting, but there are some excellent design element (e.g. all the bolts, clips, and some of the poles are the same gauge/size, and the wonderful tensioning base rail) which meant we could improvise to fix our mistakes (and there were a few - all our fault). I would definitely recommend and buy again. A few little gripes (hence the 4 not 5 star rating), but certainly none of them deal breakers, and if I could score 4.75/5 I would. Some of the timber was not perfectly sized. The door posts were not twice the width of the battens. Luckily we spotted this early on when putting in the revetment, but if we hadn't, the door likely would not have shut and we'd have had a lot more nail stripping to do. The instructions for hinging the door could have been clearer, it took us a few goes to work out that battening the frame to match the door was the solution. The corner stabilizers were so long they fix on the curved portion of the hoop, so create a diagonal about 10 inches into the the tunnel (i.e. away from the vertical wall). This has made it difficult to run the staging all the way to the end hoops. How I hated the self tapping screws - a whole day of shoulder and knee aching work.....though I imagine everyone complains about these. I pre-drilled with a HSS drill bit , then started with one tapping screw. Threw it away about half way through and used a second. This worked, but still really slow. Putting the poly on in a tight space (unlike the lovely flat garden shown the videos) was a little long winded and heart stopping. But retrospectively, the poly was folded in such a way that we might have hauled the roll onto the ridge and unfurled it in situ. This might be a fab design feature, but not mentioned in the instructions. Some of the wood was quite soggy. I dont suppose this matters given its all going to be exposed, but it was a bit disconcerting. Nevertheless, we really enjoyed putting it up, and while it was hard physical work at times, it was never difficult or impossible. And a newbie tip (learnt the hard way). Get the Q clips on the poles from the outset, and I borrow a dumpy level to get everything at the same height.

It's amazing. It took longer than suggested to put up but my Dad and I managed it and it is fantastic. The plastic is easy to tension and it looks great too.

I love my tunnel; all I've had to do is provide the elbow grease, everything else has been thought through with care and attention to detail so that the finished tunnel will be perfect if the instructions are followed.

Our kit arrived within two days of placing the order. Very informative booklet and easy to access 'bite-size' videos guiding you step-by-step through construction. We purchased an upgraded version of our chosen tunnel, with belt, braces and safety pins as we live in a very exposed mountainside location, but having watched the video of a First Tunnel Poly Tunnel in a storm force gale on a cliff top, we have every confidence that ours will be fine! The 'Lucky Pack' that came with it includes everything you need to learn how to get maximum results from your poly tunnel. We are really looking forward to completing ours and starting our poly tunnel growing adventure!

ordering and delivery were great and very easy. Have yet to construct the polytunnel but have read the instructions which are clear to follow. I know that if I get into trouble there is online support.

I already have the 24ft version and the quality is great. we need extra growing space now so going for the longer one as an addition. Always get the largest one you can fit because you may need it in the future.
